Square Enix released the first official trailer for Infinity Strash – Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, an upcoming action-RPG for consoles in 2021.
This Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai project includes three games across multiple platforms alongside a reboot of the original anime series. The original Adventure of Dai anime series aired from October 17, 1991 – September 24, 1992 in Japan but only got halfway through the long-running manga series. The new Adventure of Dai anime series will be developed by Toei Animation with some support from Square Enix.
This time around, Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii wanted things to be different for Dai. Dragon Yuji Horii stated, “While the original Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai anime ended halfway [into the series], I’m looking forward to be able to complete it this time.”
Details are limited on the entire project but from what we know so far, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai has quite a bit of source material to work with since the manga series lasted from October 23, 1989 to December 9, 1996 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
